All the women in the house say hay-ho!!!
Happy international women’s day to us- the womb men with the curvy, soft bumps.
What an honour to have a day dedicated to us. An
honour we very well deserve!
If you are a man, don’t feel bad as international
men’s day is almost here (November 19).
So the theme this year is #PressForProgress. I’m
taking a few minutes off my full desk to help you distill the theme into power
packs that you can gym on to become deeply fulfilled.
1. Redefine the term:
Progress means different things to different people. For one person, it is to
move from being Miss to Mrs; for another it is to move from one level on their
job to a higher level. It could mean graduation for one and matriculation for
the other. It could also mean having baby number three or getting a divorce finalized.
It is up to you to decide what progress is to you.
Progress is a forward or upward
movement towards a destination. The key words being forward/upward and destination.
This brings us to point number two.
2. Have a clear destination:
You must begin everyday of your life with a clear destination in mind. Where do
you want to arrive in your finances, in your marriage, with your children,
in your business, in your walk with God? You must begin
your day knowing where.
One very rewarding way to set
up a clear destination is to add precise emotions to your destination.
Below is an example of a destination
with precise emotion.
“At the end of today, I would
have hung out with my husband/boyfriend and return home happy; because I will
thoroughly enjoy the date regardless of what may come up.
The precise emotion here is
happiness.

Taking
charge of how we want to feel at the end of the day empowers us to make
decisions and take actions that eventually lead us to our desired state.
What’s your desired destination
today? You can write it down. Writing helps your unconscious mind grasp your
goal more quickly.
If you have a daily clear
destination you will more easily reach your short or long term goals in each
area of your life.

3. Embrace baby steps:
Women
often feel bad when they aren’t going at same pace as others. No need to poison your soul with sadness and
gloom just because you aren’t taking long leaps yet. The adult who competes at
the Olympic today, once fell severally as a baby.
Embrace your baby steps. It
doesn’t mean you are failing. It just means you are pressing. Keep getting back
up and try again using a differently improved strategy.

you understand?”)
4. Press Differently:
To press is to push firmly (Cambridge).
To #PressForProgress is to push firmly towards a desired result in any sphere.
Pressing isn’t useful if it’s
all about the effort applied. It makes better sense when the effort is towards
achieving a desired purpose.
You pressed a certain way last
time for a community change, for impart in a certain sector and it didn’t work.
It could be that your mode of PRESSure isn’t commensurate to the
height of your desired goal.
Don’t quit. Just press differently.
Pressing differently might mean
seeking collaborators, praying (declarations and decrees) specifically for days
over the matter, enrolling for a course, signing up with a mentor or letting
yourself be vulnerable with your spouse or significant other.

5. Re-evaluate your strategies:
Do you really spend time to score your efforts
towards a desired result? How often do you critically analyze your strategies?
You might have heard of SWOT. An
acronym for Strength, weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats. While this is
mostly used for business analysis, it can be used on your strategy towards that
goal or vision.
Ask often, what are the strengths of this
strategy? What are its weaknesses? What are its opportunities? What are its
threats?
An initial evaluation and
periodicay re-evaluation of your strategies would keep you stay on track as you
#PressForProgress.
